There’s No Such Thing as Old Age

@70 years, I’m walking 100,000 steps in 1 day

I believe it is important to control one’s consciousness. I have found truth in the ancient adage, “As a man thinketh, so the world is formed.” I think of myself as healthy and strong. So I am.

I speak to college kids around the world about firing up their imagination and living a creative life. I use Walt Disney’s Quote, “If you can dream it, you can do it,” as the center of the talk.

Next week, at the age of 70, I am walking 100,000 steps in one day for a fundraiser to support women in writing, Walk for Story. Yep, I dreamed it so I’m doing it.

Of course, you can’t merely dream about being healthy and strong, you need to develop skills along the way to carry it through. Like the Wright Brothers who dreamed of flying, they obtained the mechanical skills to take a heavier-than-air aircraft into the sky and keep it there. I refer to their education in mechanics and trial-and-error as “building practical wings”. Still, the dream came first.

As I get ready to walk 100,000 steps in a day, I share with you some of the insights I’ve discovered in my writings for Better Humans. The pieces are directed to positive mindset and developing healthy longevity.
