Join the Living Legends of Hollywood
Story Summit at Kauai Writers Conference in November 2022
This November, the esteemed Kauai Writers Conference will include top professionals from the world of screenwriting. “We are thrilled to have these legends of the screen join us this year,” says David Katz, director of the conference. “Finally, our conference comprises workshops in every form of writing, including streaming, television, and motion pictures.”
The Hollywood entertainment creatives include Jeff Arch, the Academy Award nominated writer of Sleepless in Seattle. Jeff will be conducting a master class workshop in character development.
Also joining the ten-day conference will be Marta Kauffman, multi-Emmy winning writer and show runner of the iconic Friends as well as the longest running series of Netflix, Grace and Frankie. Is it any wonder that she is known as the “Queen of Comedy”? Marta will be conducting a master class in comedy series writing.
David Paul Kirkpatrick will also be attending. The New York Times called him a “Kingmaker” for the hundreds of writers, actors, and directors he helped guide in their careers in entertainment. Some of the more notable screenplays he developed include Ordinary People, Terms of Endearment, Forrest Gump and Witness, all which won the Academy Awards for best screenplay or best adapted screenplay. David will be conducting a master class in scene creation for the screen.
If Marta Kauffman is known as the “Queen of Comedy” than Dale Launer is the king of it. He has created classic motion picture comedies including Ruthless People, My Cousin Vinny, Blind Date, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Dale will be teaching a master class workshop in screenwriting.
The Kauai Writers Conference, led by writer David Katz, has been lifting up and informing writers in an inspirational setting in one of Hawaii’s most beautiful islands for nine years.
As the world opens up again, Story Summit, just over two years old, has now officially aligned itself with the Kauai Writers Conference for November 2022. The Summit is bringing several of its screenwriting faculty to the conference.
The conference is divided into two hubs: four days of master classes (November 7–10) followed by a three-day conference (November 11–13).
The master classes include a wide variety of subjects, with historical fiction, non-fiction, fiction, memoir, screenwriting, plot development, character creation and much more.
The conference itself includes small groups and panels with an array of literary agents, managers, and publishers.
If you have questions regarding the conference, please schedule a call through Calendly. One of the conference’s team members will call you during the time scheduled. There’s no cost or obligation.
