“I am so grateful to be able to help other writers through the Debra Landwehr Engle Fellowship. I’m still bowled over,” said Engle. “This is a dream come true. There are amazing writers out there from all walks of life, and while we have passion in our hearts, we still have doubts in our minds. Will our work be good enough? Will it make people feel? So many people have helped me on my writer’s walk, and this is the chance to embolden talented writers on their own journey.”

Debra Landwehr Engle is the best-selling author of The Only Little Prayer You Need which includes a foreword by his Holiness, the Dalai Lama. Her latest book, a novel, Twenty, is available at bookstores everywhere and has been a number 1 best seller in its category on Amazon.

“We are grateful for Debra’s generosity in starting the Debra Landwehr Engle Fellowship,” says Story Summit Director, Thom Black. “Debra is one of the finest mentors and writing coaches in the world. She is all about process and has a wonderful, no-judgment style that her mentees find so powerful.”

“Through the alchemy of imagination and plain hard work,” says Debra Landwehr Engle, “you can become the writer you’ve always known you could be, enriching the world with stories no one else but you could tell. I’m so thrilled that I will be able to work with the writers from this Fellowship this fall.”
