A Story of Covid-19, Persistence, and Love

My Facebook post from last week (October 29, 2020) had over 130 shares. It involved Allan Scott and The Queen’s Gambit recently released by Netflix to wonderful reviews (with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes- as of this publishing date.)

Facebook and other platforms have been dumped on a lot lately, and probably for good reason, and by Netflix, in particular, with its documentary, The Social Dilemma.

But this story is not about the shadow of Facebook. It is a sweet story. It shows the positive side of social tech and the human condition.

The Story Summit Writer’s School Class is on for February 15 to 19, 2021

“There are three critical ingredients to success as a writer in the entertainment and publishing fields — talent, mastery of craft, and the ability to collaborate,” says Story Summit Founder, David Paul Kirkpatrick, former President of Paramount Pictures and former Production Chief of Walt Disney Studios.

“If you want to become a writer, write. But if you want to have a successful career, learn how to collaborate,” says Tab Murphy, Story Summit mentor and Academy-Award-nominated screenwriter for Gorillas in the Mist and Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tarzan, and Atlantis, The Lost Empire

“I have seen many gifted and able writers crash and burn because they did not develop an other-directed personality that made them an appealing creative force,” says Kirkpatrick. “That’s why this class which Debra Engle and Amy Ferris have cooked up is so incredible. It will help talented and capable writers develop that third ingredient that is essential to a sustainable career in entertainment and publishing.” …

This is a highly accident-prone, explosive astrological influence denoting sudden rash behavior, a strong desire to assert one’s freedom, unexpected incidents.

Georgia said about the Inaugural Day, itself, Wednesday, January 20th, that is is:

Bad timing for such an important day. The planet Mars which is aggressive energy is lined up with Uranus on Wednesday and Uranus represents everything unusual — explosions, impulsive activity, earthquakes, dynamite, that kind of thing. …

. . . @ 6 pm wherever you are in the world . . .

The coronavirus pandemic may keep loved ones apart this holiday season, but Mary Beggs-Reid from Harrogate, North Yorkshire hopes to bring loved ones together through a simple feat — ringing a bell.

“On Christmas Eve at 6pm (your time) we are asking everyone to come outside and ring a bell for 2 mins to spread Christmas spirit and to help Santa fly that sleigh,” writes Mary.

What started as a little idea for Mary’s Harrogate Community in the UK began to gain momentum. Mary “thought a Facebook group would be a good idea for all communities to join in.” It was back in October that Mary had the idea for bell ringing and well . . . the idea has snowballed. …
